Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina's third-largest city and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina's administrative center of Tuzla Canton. Tuzla is the northeast of Bosnia's commercial, cultural, educational, health and tourist center.
Tuzla has an Ottoman center, two exclusive mosques, and a millennia-old salt industry. Budget airlines including Wizz Air use this town as a hub within and outside Bosnia. Pub Taverna, is the favourite place of a local to head for a beer or two after work. A selection of beers, pizzas and some of the finest cevapi in Tuzla are just a few highlights from their menu.
Bosnia features several glamorous old towns mixing Ottoman and Austrian types. Tuzla is not any different. Soak up and enjoy the atmosphere as you stroll through the stone streets and have a coffee in one of the little cafés. Sadly, sinkholes formed under the old town due to erosion from salt mining. Part of it fell on itself.
Located near the salt lakes, the restaurant serves delicious cevapi within an atmosphere that is more like an elegant café. It is not much else you'll find on the menu but eating some of their typical Bosnian dishes is a few regrets. Tuzla is off the tourist trail in northeastern Bosnia and is a hub for Wizz Air flights into the region. Adventurous travelers should discover this industrial city's unexpected serendipity. Because of the abundance of salt, the population boomed to one of Bosnia's largest, has been a major Ottoman city. Today you will find a new university town with elements and Otto architectural styles.
Each town has an Irish Pub token and Tuzla also has one. The interior design of the Irish style makes drinkers feel like they are in Ireland somehow. Visitors will choose from various forms of tap beer and a wide range of pub food. Music plays in the background, and the crowds are always made up of Bosnians of all ages from every corner of life.
Park Pub has beer bottles, bottled food, wine and drinks, overlooking City Park. Locals also come here for a fast beer or a meal after work like traditional Bosnian cuisine, snacks and pizza. Live music on weekends is among the highlights of this venue. Expect the pub to get crowded and have one of Tuzla's best evenings out here.
Driving around Tuzla city with a rental car can be a problem but not impossible. It is a nice way to get around, but we suggest that you look at the laws of local traffic because they can differ from what you are used to. Bear in mind that traffic can be dense in rush hours and can take longer before reaching your destination.
